BLOOD DONATION CAMP IN ASSOCIATION WITH SANKALP INDIA FOUNDATION

Blood donation camp was organized by NSS Team, Krupanidhi on 27-August-2019 in seminar hall. A team of Health care Professionals from transfusion medicine department of Narayana Hospital, Bangalore came along with representatives from Sankalp India Foundation. The team has come well equipped with necessities needed to conduct the blood donation camp like beds, disposable needles, biscuit packets, juice packets, etc. The program was graciously inaugurated by lighting the lamp by Prof. Praksh V Mallya [Director-CPPA, Krupanidhi College of Pharmacy], Prof Dr MD Karvekar [Director- Academics, Krupanidhi College of Pharmacy], Dr Rajendra SV [Principal Incharge, Krupanidhi College of Pharmacy] Tapti Mohapatra [Consultant-Transfusion Medicine, Narayana Health] and Mrs Ashwini M [NSS Program Officer] . Following which Dr Rajendra addressed the students and highlighted the importance of donating blood for saving the lives of the injured, sick and initiated the camp by donating his blood, thus setting an example to the students. Dr Tapti also addressed the audience saying that the blood donation does not weaken the donors and that recovery takes place very soon. Students actively volunteered for this noble cause. Students were provided with biscuits and juice after blood donation. They were also handed over a certificate of appreciation. The Blood Donation Camp continued till 4:00 pm. The blood donation was a successful event. Volunteers were able to donate 105 units of blood. The camp came to a conclusion with Narayana Health and Sankalp India Foundation applauding and handing over certificate of appreciation to NSS Unit Krupanidhi.
